A Partnership for Conservation and Community Development
Starting in 2025, Vinh Hoan will make an annual contribution to the Returning Sarus Cranes program, a long-term conservation initiative focused on restoring the region’s ecosystem and supporting the return of this iconic species. Vinh Hoan’s contribution will continue annually through 2032, reinforcing the company’s ongoing commitment to biodiversity and environmental sustainability.
Ms. Nguyen Ngo Vi Tam, the CEO of Vinh Hoan, attended the recent fundraising reception project, further reinforcing the company’s dedication to protecting Vietnam’s unique natural heritage. Through this partnership, Vinh Hoan is supporting the restoration of natural habitats, improvement of water management, and fostering sustainable agricultural practices—all critical components in ensuring the cranes’ successful return to the region.
Tram Chim National Park: A Shelter for the Sarus Crane
Tram Chim National Park is not only a sanctuary for the Sarus Crane but also a globally recognized wetland, home to diverse flora and fauna, many of which are endangered. The park, which spans across the Mekong Delta, serves as one of two major migratory points for cranes along the route from Australia to East Asia. However, over the past few decades, the number of Sarus Cranes returning to Tram Chim has drastically declined, with factors such as habitat degradation, pollution, and climate change posing significant challenges to their survival.
In response, Đồng Tháp Province has initiated an extensive 10-year conservation plan focused on restoring the cranes’ natural habitat, managing water levels, and establishing breeding programs to support the reintroduction of the Sarus Crane into the wild. This effort not only seeks to protect the cranes, but also enhances the broader biodiversity of the region, benefiting local communities and promoting eco-tourism opportunities.
Vinh Hoan’s Role in Promoting Sustainability
This partnership is just one of many ways in which Vinh Hoan is driving positive change within the aquaculture industry and beyond. With a strong foundation in sustainability, Vinh Hoan is committed to being part of the solution to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.
